Rugby Independent Spiritualist Church was opened in the late 1800's by its founder Mr H Goodwin who lived in the New Bilton Area of Rugby. The Church members used to meet at a house in York Street also in New Bilton later transferring to larger premises owned by The Co-operative Society in Sheep Street Rugby.
