Description: A city famous for its ale. A network of caves and a water profile perfect for brewing ensured that Nottingham built firm foundations using its natural resources to brew world-famous beers. The caves meant that production was all year round, the beers were stored in optimum temperatures. Monks brewed in the abby and the rest of the caves hosted malt mills, breweries and cellars.
