Company name: Spirit of the Garden

Description: After 25 years running a successful knitwear business in partnership with my sister, which was built initially around County Agricultural Shows, equestrian and other events both national and international, we established shops in Helmsley, North Yorkshire, and later in St Andrews. Following marriage and now with a young daughter, there followed 10 years of working for my husband’s third generation Fine Art Dealership, and running the small estate in East Sussex where it was predominantly based. Our time was divided between Sussex and Helmsley, where a gallery had been established in 1997. However, in 2010 we decided to move permanently to North Yorkshire and settled in beautiful Bilsdale just a few miles north of Helmsley. Wondering what to do next, I had found it difficult to find interesting and unusual pieces for the garden with some sense of style and, moreover, affordable. I therefore set about searching for quirky and out of the ordinary as well as classical and timeless decorative garden items.
