ABERTILLERY AND LLANHILLETH COMMUNITY COUNCIL is your local elected Council, representing people of the local area at the grass roots level, from Swffryd in the south, through Llanhilleth, Brynithel, Aberbeeg, Six Bells, Abertillery and Cwmtillery, to Bournville in the north. We help run local events, including the Christmas concert, St David's Day concert and Remembrance events, we are involved in Aberfest and Winterfest (where we fund the children's activity zone), we celebrate local people's achievements at Council meetings, provide Christmas lights and defibrillators throughout the area, pay for additional detached youth workers and a local youth food project, to help engage young people better and reduce anti-social behaviour, run Council meetings, serve on local school governing bodies and other organisations, provide grants to local organisations and groups, organise the annual Party in the Park, organise other events such as a Fun Run to be held in 2020, look after War Memorials and lease allotments, represent local people's views to organisations such as Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council and Heddlu Gwent Police and work in partnership with many local groups and organisations, to significantly and continuously improve community well-being now and for future generations.
